Bernard Dunne

My favourite boxer is Bernard Dunne. He has retired from boxing now but in his career he has been WBA and European Super Bantamweight champion. He was never  beaten by another Irish boxer in his amateur career.
Bernard Dunne was born on 6th February 1980 in Clondalkin, Co.Dublin, Ireland. He boxed as an amateur for Ireland and won 13 Irish titles. He began his professional boxing career in America in December 2001. He won his first 14 fights in America and then returned to Ireland. He won the European Super Bantamweight title on 11th November 2006 in Dublin, his hometown. He defended his title and won in March 2007 and in June 2007 he defended his EBU title and won.
In January 2010, Bernard Dunne won boxer of the year at the Irish National Boxing Awards. Three weeks later he announced that he was retiring from boxing.
